Welcome
Hello, My Name is Mike Nosti, I am a USCG OUPV MMC holder, former Marine Lieutenant for Brevent Park and Leonardo Fire Company and the founder of Capt & Crew. This Journey began during covid in 2020 when I decided I was done wearing clothing designed by the big guys. I learned graphic design from scratch and began creating my own designs focused on my love of offshore fishing.
I grew up in Middletown, NJ and moved to a small bayshore town called Leonardo which is located on the Raritan Bay in New Jersey. Ever since I was a kid I've been obsessed with the ocean. It started with bringing seining nets to the beach and picking crabs off pilings to needing to bring a pole every time I knew i'd be around water because I always wanted to catch something. Theres something about catching fish that never gets old. The thrill of the chase of the catch of a lifetime is almost a myth entirely, no matter how big of a fish you catch, all fishermen know...were still going to get back on that boat and go looking for a bigger one. Thats what got me hooked. I've traveled up and down the east coast, across all of North America and down into Central America searching for monsters, and have definitely found some, but like most fisherman, I don't think I'll ever be satisfied.
Clothing design has since transitioned to custom hand crafted calcutta bamboo items such as gaffs, bait nets, chum ladles and tuna spikes. Additionally after serving as a Captain and mate on various charter boats fishing the area of the Raritan Bay, New York Bight and the canyons off the east coast of New Jersey I saw the need to develop a simple, easy to use rig system for bait fishing tuna fish that anyone can put to work and trust right out of the bag.
Thank you for visiting my page, I hope you can find what you are looking for, every single item listed has been hand crafted by me, myself and I to make you look good, feel good, stay comfortable and get the job done while out on the water. Please feel free to shoot me a message through our contact page and follow on instagram @captncrewclothing.
